Capitalising on change – active travel: quieter streets

During lockdown restrictions, data showed that people were using their cars less to travel around the city. If you own a car, would you consider using your car less as restrictions are lifted to maintain quieter streets?

Summary

  • Over half of residents would consider using their car less to maintain quieter streets; most of these would walk or cycle more (43%).
  • Just under a quarter do not own a car.
  • People with a disability were less keen on using their car less; other options might not be as accessible to them due to their disability.
